7.0 Petroleum refinery engineering

Course Description:
Studying the composition of petroleum and crude oil, refining feedstock and products, distillation and analysis of crude oil, catalytic reforming, catalytic cracking and hydrotreating, lubricating oil production, refining processes for gasoline and kerosine and light gas oil.

Course Outline:
Chapter 1: introduction. Chapter 2: refinery feed stocks and products. Chapter 3: thermophysical properties of petroleum fractions and crude oils. Chapter 4: crude distillation. Chapter 5: catalytic reforming and isomerization. Chapter 6: thermal cracking and coking.
