Course Description:
In this course, advanced mechanical design methods are introduced through teaching the design and components of the mechanical elements.

Course Outline:
1. Design of screws, bolts, fasteners, and other nonpermanent joints 2. Permanent joints: welding and bonding 3. Design of mechanical springs 4. Contact bearings 5. Lubrication and journal bearing 6. Gears’ design: helical and spur 7. Gears’ design: bevel and worm 8. Clutch design
