Microprocessor and Microcomputer Systems
Course Description:
Introduction to theoretical concepts of 8-bit and 16-bit microprocessors including microprocessor architecture, memory organization, instruction set, input/output organization, and interrupts. Design of microcomputer systems, address maps, system bus, memory maps, peripheral I/O, memory-mapped I/O, interrupt-driven I/O, interface devices, and general-purpose programmable peripheral devices. Students will be exposed to its internal structure this is followed by a study of its addressing modes, instruction sets, assembly language programming and programming problems including peripheral device service routines and arithmetic operations.
